About BZR
It started in 2022 as a Bachata festival in Freiburg. Since 2024 Brazilian Zouk shares the stage equally — and BZR became the home of two scenes meeting on the same floor.

BZR started in 2022 as a pure Bachata festival, born from the desire to bring world-class teachers and a warm community feel to Freiburg. Since 2024 Brazilian Zouk has become an equal part of the line-up, and the two scenes meet on the same floors every December.
Every detail of BZR is designed with dancers in mind. From the wooden sprung floor at Ballhaus, to our careful curation of teachers, to our no-tolerance safe-space policy — we want you to feel at home.
